An Impossible Dream
Just been up to London to see the musical The Man of La Mancha at the Coliseum. Only, as I was approaching the theatre I saw a long queue of people even before I got to St. Martin's Lane where the theatre entrance is. It transpired that there had been a power cut and they weren't letting people in the theatre. Pavements on both sides of the road were crowded with people and theatre staff were constantly telling people to get out of the road as cars wanted to use it.
Finally, after about ten minutes, members of staff started circulating around the crowd saying the performance had been cancelled at to e-mail the box office to see about refunds.
I don't think this has ever happened to me before although about ten years ago, same theatre, a performance was cancelled due to heavy snow was preventing the cast from getting in. But on that occasion they phoned me in the afternoon to tell me,
