So that explains it

I was in the supermarket the other day, and there were several women wandering around wearing red t-shirts marked "USA Rugby".  Then, I was going to the supermarket again just now, and two women joggers in blue t-shirts went past, the logo "Sweden Rugby" on their backs.

A quick google shows that the women's rugby world cup is on in Guildford at the moment.  Never knew that.
