There seems to be a magpie (or similar bird) around here that has taken to landing on my upstairs window-sills and tapping.  I was sitting on the loo just now and heard a tapping on the window.  Very disconcerting.

So I was watching W1A just now when I heard a thump on the window and saw the flash of a bird's head and beak out of the corner of my eye.  My first thought  was that it was a pigeon blown off course by the wind, which has got up just now.  But the programme was just finishing, and when I got up I saw something moving in the garden.  It wasn't a pigeon, and it didn't seem to be going anywhere even when I started taking flash pictures through the window.  I assume it didn't feel like flying and it wandered off down the garden path behind the greenhouse.  It may have found the back gate as it doesn't seem to be there now.( Picture )
