I always feel a bit cheated by the Great Storm. Living highish in Kent I ought to have some tale to tell, but I was up at Oxford at the time, and saw nothing. I remember wandering the devastation round Ide Hill the Christmas afterwards, but it is remarkable how quickly the North Downs, which I wander so often, have recovered.
