When I was at university, I did a year's psychology. One of the lab sessions involved trying to replicate Pavlov's famous experiment, only using human subjects, not dogs. The idea was to sound a buzzer and then puff air into someone's eye. After a while, they should blink whenever the buzzer sounded.
When I was the subject, after one puff, I spent the rest of the session with my eyes tightly shut as they were watering so much, not the response they were looking for.
